THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION ONTARIO PROVINCIAL COMMAND BRANCHES AND LADIES' AUXILIARIES CHARITABLE FOUNDATION DONATES $7,100

Al Welch, 2nd Vice President of Sir Arthur Currie Royal Canadian Legion Branch 116, presented the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation with a donation of $7,100 towards the purchase of new hematology slide stainer equipment. On hand to accept the donation was Susan McLean, CEO of the SMGH Foundation.

“We are just so grateful for the on-going support of the Legion and Legion Ladies Auxiliary,” says Susan McLean.   “This generous donation will support the purchase of new hematology slide stainer equipment which allows for microscopic examinations of red and white blood cells in order to effectively determine diseases, viruses and other health conditions in patients.”

The Royal Canadian Legion Charitable Foundation was conceived and implemented as a provincial initiative and remains a remarkable example of the good that can be done when the Branches and Ladies’ Auxiliaries combine their efforts. The grants are only made possible through the support of the Legion Branches and Auxiliaries. Since its inception, the Charitable Foundation has made grants in excess of $10 Million to the various hospitals, health clinics, and homes for the aged and charities for the communities across Ontario.
